Nieuwkoop has a new option to send and pick up packages: the DHL Locker. Since March the habitants of Nieuwkoop can go to Kluswijs on the Industrieweg. Amateur soccer club SV Nieuwkoop also has a DHL Locker. This machine enables members and local residents to send and pick up parcels at any time at the sports park at Ladderhaak 2 in Nieuwkoop.
DHL is currently placing hundreds of lockers. Many of them appear at sports clubs. These turn out to be highly frequented and easily accessible locations. In addition, DHL is logistics partner of the national women's teams of field hockey, soccer, handball and volleyball. The locker at SV Nieuwkoop therefore has special wrapping of the orange women. Many amateur clubs would like to see a locker placed at their accommodation. For each parcel in the machine, the club receives a compensation for the club treasury.
Arjan Reiffers, manager DHL Pakketautomaten, about the cooperation: “More and more people choose for delivery at a service point. This DHL Locker is available 24/7. This parcel point at SV Nieuwkoop is a win-win for the club and its members, DHL and everyone who comes to the area.”
Package in and out of the machine: this is how it works
DHL can process 175,000 packages through its automatic lockers. With a unique emailed or in-app collection code, the automatic parcel machine opens only for the recipient of the parcel in question. Returning or sending packages is done with the same ease.
More and more people are using delivery at a service point or locker as an alternative to delivery to the home address. In one year, its use has more than doubled. Users cite flexibility, convenience and sustainability as plus points. The locker can also be defined as a standard delivery option in the My DHL app, which has now been downloaded over 5 million times.
