DHL starts construction of climate-neutral CityHub in Leeuwarden

With the striking of a green pile, the construction of the climate-neutral DHL eCommerce CityHub for Leeuwarden has started. It is the eleventh of 26 new CityHubs to be built in the Dutch network of a total of 140 local branches. The local hub in Leeuwarden will be located at Brailleweg 4 on the west side of the city with good supply and removal via the N31 and also easy access roads to the city. Commissioning is planned for early 2023. The CityHub will be the workplace of more than 100 delivery drivers who now work from another place in the municipality. Every day they will drive more than 90 routes along households, shops and businesses in Leeuwarden and the surrounding area. This is done with vans that drive electrically or on HVO with which the last mile to consumers will be fossil-free throughout the Netherlands before the end of this year.
