DHL eCommerce, PEC Zwolle and Regio Zwolle United expand cooperation. DHL has already been a member of the Logistiek Netwerk Regio Zwolle for several years, but from now on it will also be a social partner of the club. The cooperation was confirmed last Friday at PEC Zwolle - Willem II (2-2). A match with a special touch for DHL eCommerce, given that it is now social partner with both clubs.
More than a logistics partner
DHL eCommerce is more than a logistics partner. Under the strategic pillars GoHelp, GoTeach and GoGreen, DHL eCommerce supports charities and social initiatives within the Benelux through its DHL Cares Foundation. PEC Zwolle is also more than soccer. With the Regio Zwolle United foundation, together with committed partners, the power of soccer is used for about 20 social projects. DHL and the club have found each other on the mutual social ambitions and therefore the cooperation is extended. With this partnership, DHL is strengthening its own ambitions and positioning itself even more emphatically in the heart of the Zwolle Region.
More than football
With the social partnership, DHL supports the club's social activities and will focus in particular on two target groups: YoungStars (focus: Playing for Success for children) and OldStars (focus: Christmas gift campaign for single elderly people).
Michel Clausing, Chief Commercial Officer DHL eCommerce: "We believe that a better world also starts with DHL. That's why we support social initiatives through DHL Cares. We believe we can make a social impact through PEC Zwolle and Regio Zwolle United, in which our own employees from our RegioHub Zwolle will also participate. This positions us even more strongly as a socially engaged employer in the heart of the Zwolle Region.''
Clausing continues: "We also see the power of sports at DHL. For example, we recently entered into cooperation with the sports associations of volleyball, field hockey, handball and soccer. With the #SameDream proposition, we are now sponsors of the national women's teams of the aforementioned federations.''
Stéphanie Ganzeboom, manager Corporate Social Responsibility / DHL Cares: 'Connecting People, improving lives,' at DHL, globally is our social mission. We do this under the pillars GoHelp, GoTeach and GoGreen. Locally, we translate that strategy by connecting our brand, our people, our resources and our network with social initiatives and charities under the banner "together for another. The helping hands of our colleagues, our customers and partners together make the social impact in the region greater. So from now on we are proud to join forces with Regio Zwolle United and together we contribute to positive change in the Zwolle region.
Jurian Meijntjes, salesmanager PEC Zwolle: "As a club, we are obviously delighted that an A-brand like DHL is extending the partnership. This expresses a lot of confidence in the club and we are proud of that. We are convinced that through the cooperation we can make a nice contribution to the goals of both DHL and PEC Zwolle and Regio Zwolle United.''
Eilt Staal, director Regio Zwolle United: "DHL eCommerce has been a loyal partner of the Logistics Network for many years. This is precisely why it is fantastic that the cooperation is being expanded because it inspires confidence. We look forward to working together with DHL's employees in the region to achieve good results in social projects. The partnership is a nice interaction between the joint ambitions of DHL, the club and the region.''
