Almost all Intergamma's DIY stores will have a DHL Locker for shipping and picking up packages. At both Karwei and GAMMA, the locker will be located outside in the parking lot. The locker, which consumers can use for all their shipments, has room for packages of different sizes. Placing a DHL locker at almost all of Intergamma's 293 stores builds on the cooperation that began more than ten years ago. The Karwei store in Leusden (Klokhoek 4) is the first DIY store with this extra service. In the coming months, some 70 first GAMMA and Karwei branches will be equipped with DHL lockers. The aim is to complete the further rollout in 2025 across as many of the 293 Dutch GAMMA and Karwei DIY stores as possible.
Intergamma, the organization behind DIY chains GAMMA and Karwei, sees the DHL lockers as a way to serve consumers even better. “By adding services from partners that meet the needs of more and more consumers, we are increasing convenience for existing and new customers of our DIY stores,” says Harold van de Scheur, responsible at Intergamma for the development of the GAMMA and Karwei store formulas. “The combination with picking up or returning a package yourself via the vending machine saves customers valuable time and effort, and there is almost always a GAMMA or Karwei DIY store nearby.”

Lockers are the do-it-yourself version of these points. This is why we see the Intergamma chain as a great addition to our network, which will thus grow over 5,000 points by 2025. ”
Parcel in and out of the vending machine: how it works
DHL can now process 175,000 parcels through its automatic lockers. With a unique e-mailed or in-app pickup code, the locker opens only for the recipient of the parcel in question. Returning or sending packages is done with the same ease.
More and more people are using delivery at a service point or locker as an alternative to delivery to the home address. In one year, its use has more than doubled. Users cite flexibility, convenience and durability as plus points. The locker at GAMMA and Karwei can also be defined as a standard delivery option in the My DHL app, which has now been downloaded more than 5 million times.
