Sometimes criminals pose as employees or drivers of a delivery service, collecting items from a shed or warehouse that are not theirs. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent this type of cargo theft without your help. That's why we'd like to tell you how to recognize cargo theft from warehouses, and what actions you can take to stop it.
You can combat this type of theft by:
- Alerting your dock employees to this information.
- Establishing the identity of the driver. The driver should at least have a driver's license and in many cases a DHL pass.
- Registering the name, document number and license plate number of the vehicle. This is permitted within the framework of the AVG for this purpose.
- Check the DHL pick-up order with the driver, this is usually available in hard copy or digitally.
- If in doubt, contact DHL's planning department, with whom you normally also have contact about pickup orders.
For further questions on this subject, please contact your DHL contact person.

Security personnel
Provide physical surveillance during busy hours or at night to monitor the warehouse.
Lighting

Smart locks and seals
Use secure locks and tamper-proof seals on containers or critical storage areas.
